A study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine has found people adhering to 4 simple lifestyle behaviors can prevent diabetes, heart attacks, strokes and even cancer! The 4 lifestyle behaviors are:
1. Not smoking
2. Exercising 3.5 hours per week
3. Eating a healthy diet (vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains, nuts, seeds and limited amount of meat)
4. Maintaining healthy body weight
In people who follow these lifestyle behaviors, 93% of diabetes, 81% of heart attacks, 50% of strokes and 36% of all cancers were prevented!
