The Vital Connection Between Your Posture, Spine, Organs and Overall Health

Did you know health problems such as asthma, indigestion, irritable bowel, frequent colds, male and female organ trouble, etc., can have their cause traced back to the spine?  There is a vital connection between your posture, spine and all of the organs of your body.  In this article, we will discuss this connection and how organ dysfunction and disease can occur if this connection is lost.

The spine has 2 functions:

1. It supports us and keeps us upright.  The way our spine supports us is called our POSTURE.

2. It protects our spinal cord.

A healthy spinal cord is ESSENTIAL TO OUR OVERALL HEALTH.

The brain, which controls all of the functions of the body, sends energy down the spinal cord.

The spinal cord is like a river carrying life energy from the brain, through the spine, to ALL OF THE VITAL ORGANS and TISSUES OF THE BODY.

Each and every organ is TOTALLY DEPENDENT on that energy to keep us alive and healthy.

Traumas cause our spine and posture to become misaligned.

Misalignments can occur SUDDENLY from an injury such as a fall, car accident or sports injury.

They can also occur GRADUALLY from working, sitting, or sleeping in a bad posture for extended periods of time.

As a result, individual bones (vertebrae) or whole sections of the spine SHIFT OUT OF PLACE.

These shifts are called SUBLUXATIONS.

When subluxations occur, they block the energy from getting to the organs.

Similar to a dimmer switch, the energy gets turned down, it cannot get through the nerves to the organs and over time the organs weaken, degenerate and become diseased.

The bottom line is THE ALIGNMENT OF OUR POSTURE AND SPINE IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO OUR OVERALL HEALTH!

These facts, which are the foundation of chiropractic, is supported by the work of Dr. Henry Winsor, M.D.  His research, which is nearly 100 years old, involved examining 50 cadavers to determine if a connection existed between curvature (misalignment) of the spine and diseased organs.  In 49 of the 50 cadavers, he found abnormal curvature in the region of the spine whose nerves supplied the diseased organs. He found 139 organs that were in varying degrees of disease.  He found diseased hearts, lungs, livers, spleens, pancreases, kidneys, intestines, uteruses, prostates, etc.  Dr. Winsor also discovered that the regions of the spine that were misaligned were rigid and apparently misaligned for many years.  He concluded that spinal misalignments developed before the organs became diseased.

What Else We Have To Say:  Can you see how your posture and spinal alignment are directly related to your overall health?  If you want to help ensure your organs are receiving their proper energy supply in order to avoid organ dysfunction and disease, have your alignment checked on a regular basis, especially after trauma.
