Why is this scale important? The effort you percei Why is this scale important? The effort you perceive will be moving on this scale during any exercise or activity you do, whether it is a cardio exercise, yoga, or strength training. At the beginning of an exercise, the effort will typically be easier and will progressively get harder as the exercise goes on. This depends on the amount of resistance and position your body is exposed to. Obviously, you will need to push your exercises into the "Difficult" to "Hard" range to get improvements in your strength, stability, endurance, etc. The important thing is to know when to "shut it down." When the effort you feel becomes ❌"Hard," you will begin to compensate in your posture and movement. You will lose the proper form and joint alignment you started with, assuming it was proper at the start. In my opinion, when an exercise gets very to extremely hard, there is little more to gain except for a potential injury.

✅ You can workout hard, but workout smart!

If you are not taking Vitamin D, you are missing a If you are not taking Vitamin D, you are missing a key contributor to staying healthy. Vitamin D has been shown to help prevent and fight many diseases, including heart disease, cancer, and even Covid-19! Most adults need to take 5,000-10,000IUs of vit D3 per day to get blood levels in the optimal range of 50-80mg/dl. Supplement and ask your doctor to check your Vitamin D level when doing blood work. Adjust your dosage if necessary to get in the optimal range.

Stay healthy, everyone!

New way of cooking rice removes arsenic, retains m New way of cooking rice removes arsenic, retains minerals.

Arsenic is a carcinogen and affects almost every organ in the body and can cause skin lesions, cancer, diabetes and lung diseases.

Rice accumulates around 10 times as much arsenic as other grains. In rice, arsenic is concentrated in the outer bran layer surrounding the endosperm. This means that brown rice, (unmilled or unpolished rice that retains its bran) contains more arsenic than white rice. This milling process removes arsenic from white rice but also removes 75-90% of its nutrients.

A new study found the "parboiling with absorption method" (PBA) removed most of the arsenic, while keeping most nutrients in the cooked rice.

The PBA method involves parboiling the rice in pre-boiled water for 5 minutes before draining and refreshing the water, then cooking it on a lower heat to absorb all the water.
